Geographical situation and history of the city
A peninsula located between Rhuys and the Vilaine estuary, Damgan covers 10.16 km². The city. The town has about 14,875 inhabitants and a little more than 8 km of beaches. According to some historical findings, the area would be inhabited since -900 to -600. Later, in the VIᵉ century, it became part of the parish of Ambon from which it was detached in the 19th century.
