Accessible by car inless than 40 minutes from your KerYaoulet campsite, Carnac is an essential site not to be missed during your stay in Bretagne. World famous, the menhirs of Carnac are 7000 years old. Three main sites in Carnac gather thousands of megalithsaligned in decreasing order of size over several kilometers : MĂ©nec, Kermario and Kerlescan. The alignments can be visitedfreely from October to March, and witha guide from April to September.

The museum of prehistory of Carnac exhibits a very rich collection of archaeological objects. A large part of the museum is of course devoted to the Neolithic period and to the questions that the mysterious alignments of local megaliths still raise. Numerous tumuli and dolmens can also be seen on the territory of Carnac : do not miss the tumulus of Moustoir or that of Saint-Michel, the dolmen of Kercado, or the site of Mane Kerioned, this “mound of goblins” sheltering three dolmens, one of which is semi-buried.

A charming seaside resort

A land whose imagination is nourished by History and legends, between druid ceremonies and gatherings of Korrigans, Carnac is also a typical Breton village and an enchanting seaside resort.

After your visit to the menhir alignments, discover one of the five beaches of Carnac : family, intimate, wild, each has its own character. Ideal for fishing on foot, the beach of Beaumer is also sheltered and shaded. The beach of Ty Bihan offers a clear view ofthe bay of Quiberon.

In summer, animations for children are proposed there. The large beach is appreciated for its southern exposure. Swimming is supervised in summer and the beach is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Many bars, restaurants and small shops surround the site. Carnac has a long tradition of oyster farming that we invite you to discover at Anse du PĂŽ.

About thirty professionals will show you their products : flat and hollow oysters, shellfish and crustaceans. Visits also take place in season.
