The Briere and its walks in a barge
During your stay at the campsite, don’t miss a visit to La Brière, located less than an hour north of the Loire estuary. If you’re looking for adventure, take a trip into the heart of the marshes on a barge. Created in 1970, La Brière is one of the oldest regional nature parks in France. This wild territory covers 49,000 hectares!
The Brière Regional Nature Park has a wetland area classified as one of the richest in Europe in biological terms. The aquatic environment is constantly evolving. These marshes exist thanks to the work of previous generations who drew their livelihood from them.
Embark on a fun walk withunusual discoveries on board a barge (flat-bottomed boat). During this calm water trip, take the time to listen to and discover the nature that surrounds you. Sail to the rhythm of the water and the stories told by local enthusiasts.
Life in the park is very diverse. Discover a rich and original natural heritage where you will meet species such as reptiles or amphibians (frogs, salamanders…), but also herons and ducks. The fauna and flora are also very diverse in the park, a real opportunity to reconnect with nature during a walk.
Activities for everyone
In the La Brière park, you can also take time to watch birds. But you can also go hiking, whether on foot, on horseback, by bike or by canoe, you will find what you are looking for. It’s a walk that provides a variety of atmospheres.
You can also discover the village of Kerhinet, entirely restored by the Parc de Brière. Through two interpretation trails, you will discover the past life of its inhabitants. The village is fully accessible, as is the exhibition area. Visit this open-air museum on local architecture; a real place for a walk to discover Brière and the region.
