Why camping in the Vendée ?

The zoo is located south of the seaside resort of Les Sables d’Olonne. It’s a well-stocked setting occupied by various species of animals. It has more than 360 animals belonging to nearly 55 species,making it the second most visited site in the Vendée with more than 160,000 visitors every year.

When you visit the Vendée, it is an opportunity for your children or the whole family to experience the reality of the animal world. Births are often recorded, which allows the park to be populated, to extend over more than 3 hectares and to perpetuate the existence of different species for the pleasure of your eyes. In addition, the managers are actively involved in animal protection, which ensures the survival of endangered species.

At the same time, a policy of managing the local flora has also been adopted; this justifies the green nature of the park, which is immersed in vegetation that looks like a paradise and is favourable to the presence of animals. This is not only a matter for the park management, but also for the visitors. To this end, a programme has been drawn up to raise visitors’ awareness of eco-responsibility.

Park activities

There are also theme days aimed essentially at raising visitors’ awareness of the need to preserve the fauna. The parrot day is one example among many others. The Biodiversity Festival is also organised, an opportunity to discover biodiversity through activities and exhibitions. The programme includes a visit to the park’s edible plants, workshops on invertebrates and the Planet Attitude game of geese. The most fascinating part of the event is the lunchtime activities, which allow visitors to discover what the daily life of the park and the animals is made of.
