A brief history<\/h2>

The origins of La Tranche-sur-Mer can be traced back to prehistoric times, to the Neolithic period to be precise, which is why certain prehistoric remains (bone material, pottery, flint, etc.) can still be seen today.<\/p>

Primarily engaged in farming, fishing and other economic activities, the commune has been inhabited by settlers from Asia Minor and many other populations.<\/p>
