The most beautiful beaches<\/h2>

In Catalan, \u2018racou\u2019 means nook and cranny, and it’s true that at Le Racou beach, time seems to have stood still. This stretch of sand lies to the south of Argel\u00e8s-Plage, near the port. The Racou beach is one of the most beautiful in the region, with lifeguard surveillance in summer, a sailing centre and a beach volleyball court. Popular with tourists and locals alike, Le Racou beach is lined with charming sandy cottages. On the right-hand side, the sand gives way to rock formations that mark the start of the rocky coast and its small coves.<\/p>

You can also discover the beach in the centre of Argel\u00e8s-sur-Mer, the resort’s main beach. Located in the heart of Argel\u00e8s-sur-Mer, this stretch of sand is easy to access. Bordered by a pedestrian promenade, restaurants and shops, the central beach has supervised areas during the summer season. There are deckchairs and parasols for hire and beach clubs. You can also enjoy a wide range of water sports and beach games (beach volleyball, beach soccer, etc.). From the centre’s beach, admire the beautiful view of the Vermeille coast stretching all the way to Spain.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Beaches around Argel\u00e8s-sur-Mer<\/h2>

Following on from the beach in the centre of Argel\u00e8s-sur-Mer, the Plage des Pins is located opposite the wood of the same name. This wooded setting is very pleasant in summer, providing welcome shade on hot days. This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of its water and the Handiplage label (tyralos and mats to make it easier for people with disabilities to move around). Supervised in summer, this stretch of sand is ideal for families, with its pedestrian promenade, children’s play area (inflatables) and proximity to the town centre.<\/p>

Further north, you can reach the Plage de la Marenda (or Plage Nord), which runs along the northern edge of the Mas Larrieu nature reserve. This wild area with its small dunes can be reached after a short walk (you can park at the Marende car park). The southern part has a first-aid post and is accessed via the Boulevard de la Mer car park. The beach club offers sun loungers and parasols for hire, as well as a wide range of water sports (paddle, windsurf, kayak, pedalo, wingfoil, etc.).<\/p><\/div>
