A getaway to Quiberon

The variety of its landscapes makes it a real change of scenery, and its wild coastline and finesandy beachesmake it very attractive. . The bay of Quiberon is part, as the Gulf of Morbihan, of the international association of the “Club of the most beautiful bays of the world“. Renowned for its sunshine, it also offers coves sheltered from the wind where you can swim in a calm sea. The Quiberon peninsula is a territory with a rich heritage, both historical and cultural as well as natural.

Don’t miss, during your escapade, the former reserve of crustaceans of the southwestern point, the late 19^th century residences which border the large beachof Quiberon, the history of the shipwrecked boats at the house of the inheritance, the tower of Locmariaand the exceptional panorama which it offers on the bay, the botanical path of the wash-house of the Ragot, or the charming villages of Kerné, Kernavest, or Manémeur.

The islands of Quiberon Bay

Several companies offer boattrips from Quiberon to the islands of the bay : Belle-Île-en-Mer, Hoëdic and Houat are the threeislands of the bayto visit from Port Maria. Severalround trips per day are scheduled for each island : 5 to 12 depending on the season for Belle-Île, and 2 to 5 for Houat and Hoëdic. Each of these islands, formerly linked to Quiberon, has its own charm : calm and serenity on the island of Houat, softness and authenticity on the island of Hoëdic, contrasting landscapes and picturesque villageson Belle-Île-en-Mer.

If you don’t have time to visit the islands of the bay, don’t hesitate to stroll through the ports of Quiberon : a former sardine port, Port Maria has the second largest municipal fish market in Brittany after Lorient. Port Haliguen is the main marina of Quiberon. It hosts many nautical events.
